About Me
I’m absolutely fascinated and amazed by the natural world, finding myself at home deep in the woods at first light or among the desolate winter wetlands, escaping the pressures of modern life. I only began taking photos late in life and it has opened up new ways of seeing the world that never fails to surprise.
The name of the website ‘landielf’ is an Old English term for a muse found in nature, which is exactly where I too find my inspiration. Through photography and filmmaking I try to capture the intimate stories of the living landscape around us, highlighting the wildlife as part of a wider dynamic environment which is every bit as important as the animals within it.
I believe nature is hugely beneficial in helping to find balance in life and it is something we as a society has somewhat lost. I hope to share my experiences with others, helping people to reconnect with the natural world.
Away from the cameras I have a penchant for collecting fossils, rocks, and books. When I’m not out exploring I work as an aerodynamicist with a background in aerospace engineering.
